MANAGING DIRECTOR
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Managing Director oversees day-to-day business operations for the New Mexico Actors
Lab—a theatre organization in Santa Fe, New Mexico that has built a vibrant community of
dozens of talented actors, directors, producers and others that create five or more productions
annually for an enthusiastic regional audience. Principal job responsibilities include: overseeing
the budget and finances; facilitating and supporting fundraising activities and grant writing;
procuring licensing rights for shows; negotiating and preparing theatre rental and advertising
contracts, insurance policies, and other necessary agreements, and serving as the point of
contact for non-artistic questions. The Managing Director and the Artistic Director jointly
supervise House and Box Office Managers and the Marketing and Social Media Coordinator,
develop and track the annual operating budget, and maintain the NMAL archives. The Managing
Director reports to and is an ex officio, non-voting member of the Board of Directors (which
meets 3 times annually) and serves on the Executive Committee (which meets monthly and
consists of the Managing and Artistic Directors and the Board officers—Chair, Vice Chair,
Treasurer and Secretary). The position is approximately half-time with a starting salary of
